Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, and research continues to play an important role in improving how it is detected, assessed, and treated.
For patients and clinicians in Manitoba, participating in research means contributing to the evidence that can help shape the future of prostate cancer care, right here at home.
Why Prostate Cancer Research Matters
Prostate cancer screening and diagnosis can be complex. PSA testing is an important tool, but an elevated PSA (prostate-specific antigen) does not necessarily indicate cancer, and determining what should happen next can sometimes be challenging.
Research helps us explore new approaches that may improve how we assess risk, make decisions, and personalize care.
Research Happening at Men’s Health Clinic Manitoba
Men’s Health Clinic Manitoba is proud to participate in the ClarityDX Prostate clinical utility study, an ongoing research study evaluating how ClarityDX Prostate from Nanostics may support clinical decision-making in the assessment of prostate cancer risk.
ClarityDX Prostate is a blood-based, machine-learning-informed risk assessment tool being studied alongside existing approaches to prostate cancer assessment and care.
We’re also honoured to receive grant support from Ride for Dad Canada, helping us contribute to and promote research for prostate cancer in Manitoba.
The Role of Patients and Clinicians
Clinical research depends on collaboration.
Patients who participate in research help generate real-world evidence that can help researchers better understand how emerging tools may work in clinical practice. Clinicians contribute their experience and perspective, helping connect research findings with the realities of patient care.
Together, this work can help explore better pathways for screening, diagnosis, risk assessment, and treatment.
Looking Ahead
Research doesn’t change patient care overnight. It takes time to gather evidence, evaluate new approaches, and understand where they may fit into clinical practice.
But every study contributes to a larger body of knowledge.
At Men’s Health Clinic Manitoba, we’re proud to be part of that process and to contribute to prostate cancer research happening here in Manitoba and across Canada.
Our goal is simple: help advance the evidence that can support better, more informed care for men today and in the future.
